This photography project seeks to shed light on the often-overlooked reality of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), particularly mild TBIs, which make up the vast majority of the seven million head injuries reported in the United States each year. Although categorized as "mild," these injuries can have lasting, life-altering consequences that go unnoticed by society, often classified as an invisible illness. Through this series, we will capture the invisible struggles of those affected by TBIs, showcasing the emotional and physical challenges they face long after the initial injury.

The project aims to visually explore the chronic symptoms, such as memory loss, depression, anxiety, and fatigue, which are often dismissed or misunderstood by others. By portraying these experiences, the series highlights the isolation and frustration many TBI sufferers feel, as their symptoms are minimized or misattributed to personal failings.

Through compelling imagery, this project will confront societal misconceptions about TBI, emphasizing the need for greater awareness, compassion, and improved medical support. Each photograph will serve as a powerful narrative that breaks the silence surrounding this "invisible" condition and brings the full impact of brain injuries into the light.
